Corals
Corals are marine invertebrates in the phylum Cnidaria, which also includes jellyfish, anemones, and hydra. Characteristics of Cnidarians:
- only live in water, mostly in the sea
- simple anatomy and radial symmetry
- use stinging cells for protection and to capture prey
- two body forms: free-floating, bell-shaped, medusa and immobile, tubular polyps
